It’s 2012. Eighty percent of humans own a mobile phone. There are 91.4 million smartphones in the United States alone. Out of the five billion mobile phones in the world, 1.08 billion are smartphones. Nine out of ten smartphone users use their phone on a daily basis. There are an estimated six hundred million more people that own a mobile phone compared to those who own a toothbrush. Instagram has over eighty million users, and has a daily average of 7.3 million daily users (more than twitter, a milestone in the social media world). Instagram statistically gains one new user every second, alongside an estimated fifty eight images being uploaded per second. We’re a social world! We’re attached to our phones!
