Shigeru Ban

  • A book about Shigeru Ban, a Japanese architect, consisting of Ban’s works and stories. The physical elements of the book conceptually represent my view of Ban’s life and work.
Shigeru Ban, one of Inhabitat’s favorite architects, is renowned for his disaster relief design and his ingenious use of lightweight, unconventional, and environmentally responsible materials.

The book is divided into three chapters by three main materials that he often uses: wood, paper, skin. Type in the book is designed to fill the page as much as possible and not wasting any space. Similar to Ban’s choice of materials and how he constructs his projects.
