Chapbook Series - Edgar Allan Poe

I wanted the chapbooks to have a feeling of tension and a suppressed madness which Poe was so exceptional at creating. With the covers, I foreshadowed the crimes and events that are appearing in each story without giving it away.

  • I strangled the type in ”The Black Cat” by strangling a piece of paper and photographing it. I photographed the ”Tell Tale” in ”The Tell Tale Heart” with a slow shutter speed to capture a movement that mimics a heartbeat. With ”The Cask of Amontillado” I buried the type to get a closed in and trapped feeling.
