This full-colored illustration is the 4th finished piece of Full Moon series.
When the Full Moon of August rises, the female sturgeons rise to the surface of the sea. The reddish moonlight seduce them to get out of the water. They enjoy the moonlight on the rocks and chant with their precious babies, the caviar! There in the moonlight, with mama sturgeons singing sweetly and the magical sound of a small waterfall, the loving couple gazes around. Where is our baby?
The month of August's full moon is known as Sturgeon Moon in the tradition of Native American naming. Beacuse some Native American tribes knew that the sturgeon of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain were most readily caught during this Full Moon.
The moon is also called as Full Red Moon and Full Green Corn Moon.
