On July 29th, 1890 the Post Impressionist Artist Vincent van Gogh died in a wheat field in the north of France. The brief for this project was to create a ceremonial costume for a anniversary that takes place in 2015. I was inspired by van Gogh's use of abstract forms and of course his use of wheat. The costume is fashioned after Military garments of the period to pay respect for one of the most famous modern artists. This costume features almost 1,000 pieces of dried wheat and it was featured in two exhibitions in New York City: One at The School of Visual Arts, and the other at the world famous Art Directors Club.
