For the upcoming "Transforming Feminisms" show, I made an abstract image on a concept of becoming a woman. While preparing for the show what came to my mind is that through the history women have been oppressed and controlled in thoughts in society, and what we could do to make a difference for the next generation of women. Through this piece I wanted to show that women have to stand strong in keeping our identity, whether your role in society is as a caring mother, hard working women, experienced older or growing younger women. I believe it is crucial not to stand over men but to be equal as men, and believe that this process is necessary to ponder on for young adults who are growing to be women.
"Women's fight for equal rights is essentially a humanist and peaceful struggle
for true democracy, and a higher form of civilization."
