These photographs are about a feeling that I believe lives within us all. It’s a disconnection and feeling of isolation. It seems as though it’s something we’ve all experienced at times, and I really do believe this to be true of everyone. It’s a realization that we are all ultimately alone. I don’t mean to be so literal with the term alone. Instead I would like this to be thought of in a broader spectrum. As humans we have a strong need for connection, however I find that to be increasingly difficult to obtain. Even so, once there is some form of connection, it can never be entirely true. You will always be alone in yourself. My hope is that my photographs contain this feeling, and the viewer feel just as lost as the subjects they are observing.
