Passionate about telling stories that probe beneath the surface, Janice Ahn elevates both the lyricism and grittiness of human experience. She works in narrative and documentary forms as director, producer, and writer.

Ahn's film NYU MFA thesis film Triangle won a Directors Guild of America Jury Award in the 16th Annual DGA Student Film Awards. She wrote, directed, and produced the short, about a girl named Chelsea who waits for her turn to play the triangle at the end of Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4.

Born in the Midwest and raised in California, Ahn resides in New York City. She currently teaches at the School of Visual Arts in the Visual & Critical Studies (VCS) and Humanities Departments, and at Columbia University.
